The cobblestone streets of Duluth are just a couple of blocks north of the equally quaint Prince Arthur. One major difference: Duluth is an authentic Montreal experience. Hipsters rush back and forth from one side of the street to the other, and seem to conglomerate at Chez Jose. A pair of pink legs hang above this turquoise blue establishment, which seems to fit in among the countless murals that line the brick walls of this historic Canadian district.

Chez Jose serves Portuguese chicken sandwiches from between $5 and $8, alongside delectable fruit smoothies that will cure your hangover from the night out on the St. Laurent strip. The Churrasco sandwich is my personal favorite, with perfectly spiced chicken, a slice of avocado, and hint of special sauce. They’ve got a few patio chairs outside which make a lazy Sunday all the more enjoyable in the warm spring and summer weather.
This place is not going to be the first that your concierge recommends. It’s so much cooler than that. Make sure you check it out.
