Tourists and locals do not have a shortage when it comes to oysters in Toronto. There are a decent number of delicious seafood spots that serve this dish, but few have such variety as Rodney’s Oyster House.

I will be clear on one thing: Kyle and I are not rich, therefore our experience of oysters in Toronto is limited. However, this review comes from someone who, if faced with the choice, would eat oysters so much I’d probably vomit in ecstasy. My most fond memories come from spending time on Vancouver island, devouring endless oysters free of charge. If only my younger self could fully appreciate this now rare occurrence.
Rodney’s Oyster House not only has great oysters, but an amazing atmosphere. Most of the people behind the bar are from the maritimes, and can shuck oysters faster than I could eat them (and that’s saying a lot). We ordered an assortment of oysters, which consisted of items from across North America from Maine to BC. It was amazing to be able to compare the taste of each oyster, since every location offered a slightly different flavor. The large oysters were my favorite of course, although I might as well have been swallowing five dollar bills.
Rodney’s Oyster House is expensive, and since the price varies depending on selection, it’s hard to know exactly how much you’ll be paying until the bill comes. For those looking to splurge on seafood for a night, I would recommend ordering an assortment of 16 oysters along with a full lobster to share. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard.
